heather, you have such a way with words, it sometimes leaves me flattened. I guess definitionofinsane said it best with “simple and profound”, because it really seems like you’ve touched on the heart of something bigger than the words look like they could contain.

I don’t even know if that makes sense, but this post leaves me feeling an interesting mix of nostalgic and wistful. And hopeful.

deb, thank you for your words, they absolutely make sense. one of the challenges i battle when writing is finding the right balance — saying just enough to tell my story, but leaving enough spaces so that others can find a truth in the same words. i don’t always succeed, but i enjoy trying
