hope

i’m filled with hope today as i watch my country welcome a new president.

hope is the thing with feathers

did you go to the inauguration? A couple of my coworkers did, and a guy I talked to in a thai restaurant last night did. Everyone was excited about it. I can’t imagine dealing with those kinds of crowds, and I had already used so much vacation I was reluctant to use more, but after the fact, part of me wishes I’d gone anyway.

Following it on dcist was almost as good though!

deb, no i didn’t go to the inauguration. like you, a few of my coworkers did, and, although i can’t imagine dealing with crowds of that magnitude, a small part of me wanted to go just to be a part of it all.

in the end, i elected to watch the CNN coverage from the warm comfort of my condo.
