gold dust, in our hands

tori’s concert last night was absolutely amazing.

by a stroke of good luck, the stage was extended into the orchestra seats making what i thought were seventh row seats actually third row seats — close enough to make eye contact with tori.  it was beyond words.

tori amos, DAR constitution hall, 08.01.09

and the songs.  she delivered a stunning set:

body and soul
cornflake girl
space dog
jamaica inn

mary jane (solo)
gold dust (solo) (!)

pretty good year (!)
a sorta fairytale
fast horse
precious things
strong black vine

bouncing off clouds (encore)
raspberry swirl (encore)
big wheel (encore)

i’m still processing the experience, but it was, unquestionably, a night of magic.  i mean, gold dust into pretty good year?  did i really hear that?   i feel so lucky to have been there and to have shared it with my sister.

pure bliss.

My Tori experience the night before was pure magic as well! Although, comparing set lists yours blew ours out of the water. All I can hope for is that she releases a live cd from your show! Fingers crossed. Check out my blog about my experience. Wasn’t One EskimO awesome? Talk soon.

Sounds like you had a great time. It’s always good to have expectations exceeded and it sounds like your seats were awesome.
